Greening the Kitchen
“Saving the Earth” is a major priority now in the world. People realize that we should save energy, save water and control emission etc. However, few people know how to design a kitchen, especially a commercial kitchen, which can achieve those goals.
Most of the traditional commercial kitchen designs tend to focus on the function and power of the kitchen equipment only and overlook its efficiency. Equipment with low efficiency generates a lot of waste heat which results in extreme temperature in the kitchen. Consequently, the power of the mechanical ventilation and air conditioning (MVAC) system has to be increased as well. The resulting exhaust air plus the heat generated from the MVAC system end up polluting the environment. This kind of design is unproductive as it leads to high running cost, poor working environment and pollution of the environment.
With more than 30 years of experience in the commercial catering equipment industry, we have come across many high-performance kitchen equipment and ingenious designs that can make kitchens more environmentally friendly and cost-efficient. In that light, Green Kitchen (HK) Ltd. was set up to promote the concept of “greening the kitchen” to the catering industry by introducing:
Energy-saving catering equipment with high energy-efficiency, smart recovery system and less emission to the environment
Comfortable working environment in the kitchen by improving the design of exhaust hoods and mechanical ventilation system;
Methods of controlling or treating the emission to the environment.
